I suppose every Death Eater captured or--otherwise--is a step closer to winning the war, but it's hard to feel cheered when it's children dying in this war. What are they doing recruiting kids that young? Don't their parents step in? Doesn't anyone? I suppose I don't know all James and Marcelline are doing, but I like to think I'd know--that they'd tell me--if they were involved in this sort of mess.Then again, maybe their parents are encouraging them. It's an awful sick world.

I sometimes think this war will never end.

Chocolate cake alright or is there a preference?

It never gets any easier, picking up the pieces and rebuilding after one of these attacks. Picking up the pieces and moving on after anything. Monday was three years since Dorothea's since Dorothea vanished--I wrote it. Three years of not knowing, but deeply suspecting. Three years without my Dippy Dotty, the mother of my children and love of my life. Three years and it still feels like yesterday, but it doesn't. I'm forgetting things. Her laughter, the way her hair smellsed. You think you remember, you're certain you couldn't forget, but then try as you might, you can't pull it to mind. I understand what mother meant when she says growing old is an exercise in counting losses. It's been forty since Frasier. Sixteen for Da this year. I sometimes wonder how long it will be for me.

I spent the weekend picking up rubble and staring down a row of corpses to see if I knew anyone. Did I want to see her? I suppose not, but do I want to know? That's the hardest part with disappearances. You know, but you never really do. There's always that foolish hope. I suppose after three years, there isn't. But I can't just move on.

I don't know. I suppose I won't anytime soon.

There's no easy way to say this without sounding somewhat mad, but there was just this voice that sounded like You-Know-Who saying that he was tired of our mutiny and wanting Minister Bagnold to step down. I'm not the only one who heard it and several of my customers and I are rather alarmed.

I have another batch I brewed up, this time a chocolate milk with a smokier bacon flavor. I wouldn't call it nice quite yet, but if either of you would be willing to stop by and give an opinion, I'd appreciate it and could happily compensate with a scoop of some other flavor if it's a bust.

If you'd ward when you have the chance, it'd ease my mind.
